Here's what happens in every photography business.

You had a shoot scheduled. The client cancels 24 hours before. You're stuck with a hole in your schedule. No income. No time to fill it.

This happens all the time. And every time, you're losing a day's worth of income.

The fix: a simple booking policy and reminder sequence.

  • At booking: "Just so you know, our cancellation policy is [X] hours. If you need to reschedule, let us know before then."
  • 48 hours before: "Hey! Just a reminder — your shoot is tomorrow at [time]. See you then!"
  • 24 hours before: "Hey! One more reminder — your shoot is tomorrow. Reply if you need to reschedule."

If they cancel last minute, you have documentation. And if they no-show, you've got a text to prove it. Most photographers just eat the loss. You protect yourself.

The bottleneck isn't your camera. It's not setting expectations upfront.
